My Ultimate SEO Toolkit | Top 5

Everyone worth its weight in PageRank (lol) will know that in order to be the best Search Engine marketer you need to have the right tools for the job. Same applies to every trade out there, you a mechanic in cape town servicing and working on cars? You need the right tools to do the job, pointless working on a car and all you have is your hopes and dreams.

Same goes for Marketers.

SEO by definition is:

The process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a web search engine’s unpaid results—often referred to as “natural”, “organic”, or “earned” results – wiki

I really like the T Shaped Marketer, by Rand.

This shows us we need to at least understand a little bit of everything, it helps. (Looking at you account managers!)

Anyway.

The Tools which i love using:

SEMRush semrush

With data sampling it can give you a good stick in the mud feel. I ran comparative tests with this tool and some big clients, the numbers are off but gives an overall comparison when looking at competitors, organic rankings and pulls some nice PSA numbers.

SERPFoxserpfox

I like to keep it clean and reliable. Serpfox does this in a simple format which i can showcase ranking changes and making sure the rankings are in real time.

Ahrefs ahrefs-logo

Now this gives you keyword rankings, reporting, content insights and is more used for competitor research. They done really well with a new format and styling and are always testing new and improved things.

ScreamingFrog

When you have to do a quick check while a client is sitting across the room from you and the region and location is not tracked in SEMRush, a quick overview of some onsite factors can be checked with ScreamingFrog. The tool scrapes a website giving you title length, descriptions, external links and a few more cool things. No SEO Toolkit is complete without this.

Scrapebox scrapebox

Now this tool can be considered by most to be a blackhat tool, however this is one of those tools that when used correctly can help your website tremendously. You can learn from Jacob over on his website. The Ultimate Guide to Scrapebox. Im not reinventing the wheel and the source is very good.

So there you have it. My list of Top 5 tools i personally make use of. Yes there are other tools out there which helps but i find these to be integral to making sure i do my job and get work done.
